Environmentally friendly Franklin Woods Community Hospital | Opening July 12th

For Paul Carney (project manager), Joe Kuspan (lead designer), and Jill Grdina (lead interior designer), Friday, June 25th was a big day. At 10:00 a.m., 36 months after beginning the design of the new replacement hospital in Johnson City, TN, the new Franklin Woods Community Hospital will be dedicated and Paul, Joe and Jill will be there to participate in the festivities.

The team has worked for these three years to create a sustainable design which is anticipated to receive LEED® Silver certification for the hospital. Respecting the original character of the site, Franklin Woods Community Hospital integrates into the landscape, framing exterior spaces and views of the surrounding trees and mountains. Collectively, these attributes deliver an evidence-based healing environment.
